Repair cracks in wood

The wood is one of the strongest materials you can find but if you do not give the necessary care can break down a lot, especially over time. However, there are times that no matter how you take care may suffer over the years, such as having a crack. That's why it is important to always treat the wood with the right products and that you care much for always looks perfect.

Here are some tips for you so that you know how to repair cracks in the wood and can do so at the time that detect, thus avoiding to be higher and ruin all the furniture, window, door, etc.

The first thing to do is to thoroughly clean the surface to be repaired, which will help you know the size and especially the crack profanity.

When it is clear there needs to be repaired, for which you should use putty that you can buy in stores or you can also make at home. If you want to make homemade putty to repair is not very complicated. To do this you will need several sheets of newspaper, glue or adhesive that is soluble and a little warm water. Cuts the paper into small pieces and moistens with water, and on the other hand tail dissolves in water but it is consistent. Then mix it all until a smooth paste.

To apply the putty, whether purchased or homemade, you must enter it in the cracks of the wood with a spatula, brush or whatever is better for you. Then you have to let it dry and it can be sanded and painted to make the bare wood.

Although cracks are not always avoidable, you can do this by sanding and painting the wood every so often (every couple of years, no more is needed).
